All International Usability Testing Partners use the same technology and approach to usability testing. This means that the testing results are comparable between countries. The main benefit is that you can be confident that the differences in test results between countries are of actual cultural difference and not the product of different approaches/technology.

Usability Testing

The IUTP exists to help you to manage multinational testing projects easily and efficiently. All partners provide:

Translation

  • Native language usability test moderators
  • Translation of usability tests from English into native language
  • Advice on how to tailor usability tests to fit with local culture
  • Real time translation from native language to English, so you can see the testing as it happens
  • Reports in English

Equipment and facilities

  • An eyetracker and up to date software
  • Usability lab with viewing facility
  • Host for participants and you/your team
  • Refreshments
  • Broadband internet connection (so you can keep up with your day job!)

Recruitment

  • Recruitment of participants to your specification
  • Incentives for participants and payment of local tax if applicable
  • Advice with booking hotels and transfers

Quality assurance

  • All IUT Partners have a shared Service level agreement
  • Every IUT Partner has to pass a comprehensive quality assurance process
  • Every time you use an IUT Partner you can feedback on how the project went in the Feedback section.

User Centred Design

Some IUT Partners also offer User Centred Design (UCD or UX) services. To be an approved UCD Partner each Partner must pass a peer review in the comprehensive quality assurance process. The benefit for you is confidence that your chosen partner is a respected provider of UCD, as judged by the usability industry’s leading companies.

Eyetracking for market research

Eyetracking in market research is moving from the early adopters of P&G, Ogilvy and Ipsos MORI to the wider research community. The IUTP supports the spread of this approach by offering:
